About the role:

The Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of Council facilities and community spaces. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning duties across offices, public amenities, accommodation units, operational buildings and other facilities. Tasks include general and detailed cleaning, handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals, and ensuring buildings are secure and ready for use. Working both independently and as part of a team, the Cleaner helps create safe, welcoming environments for staff, residents, and visitors.

This is a hands-on role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility and autonomy. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality service. With a varied work environment, opportunities to respond to different cleaning needs, and support from a dedicated Property Services team, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing and presentation of community assets.

  • Good Communicator: You follow instructions, keep records, report issues promptly, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

  • Flexibility: You're eager to work across various Council sites, including during early mornings or after-hours when required.

  • A current driver's licence and reliable transport would be an advantage.
