About the role:

The Stores Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Council’s Stores facility by accurately receiving, issuing, and maintaining goods and materials, assisting with depot upkeep, and ensuring stock is managed in line with Council procedures to support efficient service delivery.

This is a Casual position working business hours from the Council Depot in Walgett NSW. 

About you:

  • Physically fit and suited to safe manual handling and depot tasks
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Knowledgeable about safe work practices and committed to maintaining a safe and organised work environment
  • Able to follow instructions, work within set procedures, and complete tasks to a high standard
  • Good communicator who works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to maintain accurate records of stock movements and support inventory processes
  • Hold essential licences including a current Class C driver’s licence, forklift licence, and White Card
