About the role:
The Mechanic plays a vital role in supporting Council’s day-to-day roads and urban maintenance activities. This position helps Council to deliver essential services to our community.
This is a permanent fulltime position working business hours from the Council Depot in Walgett NSW.
About you:
- Formal trade certificate as a diesel or petrol mechanic
- Experience working on light and heavy vehicles and civil construction plant
- Safety First Attitude
- Strong problem solving for mechanical issues - fault finding, repairing, testing, modifications, and maintenance
- Effective communication skills and an ability to work as part of team and support team objectives
- A flexible approach and ability to respond to changing work methods, equipment and procedures
