About the role:

The Fleet Officer plays a vital support role in Council’s fleet operations, assisting with the coordination, maintenance, and allocation of vehicles and plant. Based in Walgett, the position ensures fleet assets are safe, compliant, and ready for use, while providing internal customer service, maintaining records, and contributing to operational efficiency across Council departments.

This is a critical role for a Council that is committed to doing things differently, valuing transparency, teamwork, and delivering positive outcomes for the community. Refer to the Position Description for the hours of duty applicable to this position.

About you:

  • You’re organised and can juggle multiple tasks with ease.

  • You communicate clearly and work well with operational teams.

  • You’re hands-on and confident with vehicle movements and inspections.

  • You have solid computer skills and can maintain accurate records.

  • You understand WHS requirements related to vehicles and plant.

  • You hold a current NSW Class C Driver Licence and a White Card.

  • Experience working in a rural or regional context is highly desirable.
