About the role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Library Officer, this position is based at the Lightning Ridge Library. This is a permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week and is responsible for updating and maintaining library records, processing loans and ensuring library resources are rotated on a regular basis.

You will also provide information to library patrons, read to visiting students and update the Library’s notice boards creating special library displays and providing general information to the community.

The successful applicant will bring to this position:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid computer literacy
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The drive to deliver quality customer service
  • Demonstrated proof of completion of Year 12 or equivalent
  • A class C drivers’ licence
  • A Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Experience working in a library and completion of Certificate III in Library and Information Services or equivalent are desirable, but not essential
