About the role:

Known internally as Manager Corporate Systems and Assurance, this is a rare opportunity to take a genuine step up into a broad, high impact leadership role. Based in Lightning Ridge, you will be the most senior Council officer in town day to day, with the authority and visibility to make things happen. You will be Council’s local problem solver, a trusted point of contact for community stakeholders, and the eyes and ears of the executive team on the ground.

You will lead service uplift across a multidisciplinary portfolio, lifting how Council responds, communicates, records decisions, and uses its corporate systems to deliver outcomes. Your focus is practical improvement, removing friction for staff and customers, strengthening confidence in how we do business, and embedding customer service as a standard, not an aspiration. This role suits a leader who enjoys variety, thrives on change, and wants to deliver tangible outcomes that the community will notice.

About you:

You are ready for a leadership role that is broader, faster paced, and more visible than your current remit. You are the person who sees a problem, listens properly, pulls the right people together and gets it fixed, without noise or drama. You bring credibility through how you lead, not through being the technical expert in every subject.

You are a change leader who can set clear expectations, build momentum, and bring a team with you. You are confident working across governance, customer service and systems, and you can translate complexity into simple, workable processes that staff will actually use. You communicate clearly, you follow through, and you build strong relationships in the community and within Council.

You will enjoy the challenge of being Council’s senior presence in Lightning Ridge, balancing day to day problem solving with longer term uplift. You are comfortable making decisions, escalating issues early, and shaping how Council shows up for the people of Lightning Ridge.
