About the role:
The Finance Graduate is an entry level professional role responsible for supporting Council’s finance function across a broad range of operational, reporting, compliance, and revenue activities. The role provides exposure across core finance disciplines including financial accounting, budgeting, income monitoring, grants accounting, and internal controls, while contributing to accurate financial management and informed decision making across the organisation.
As a Finance Graduate, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of all financial functions within Council across a two-year fixed term period. The position is designed to help a capable graduate develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret financial information, identify emerging issues, and provide clear advice and recommendations to managers.
The Finance Graduate works under supervision while progressively building the technical, commercial, and professional capability required to transition into a more senior accounting or financial analyst role within Council.
