About the role:
The Operator Parks and Open Spaces is responsible for the operation of mobile plant including, but not limited to, Council’s Street Sweeper, skid steer, backhoe, mowers and tipper/trailer vehicles. This position works autonomously and is responsible for performing street sweeper operations, urban maintenance tasks, vegetation control, and plant maintenance including cleaning, greasing and maintaining fluid levels.
About you:
The successful applicant will:
- have experience operating heavy plant and equipment including Street Sweeper, skid steer, backhoe, ride-on mowers and tipper/trailer vehicles
- have a current HR licence and White Card or be willing to immediately obtain
- be safety-conscious and willing to follow workplace health and safety procedures
- be willing and able to complete routine and assigned tasked within agreed timeframes and standards
- have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt
- understand the importance of public service and take pride in upholding the reputation of the Council and the community
- be reliable, respectful, team-oriented, and able to meet the physical and practical demands of the position.
