About the role:
Walgett Shire Council is seeking a friendly and helpful Visitor Information Officer. This is a role for someone who has strong local knowledge of tourist locations and activities inside the Walgett Shire Council.
The Visitor Information Officer supports the operation of the Walgett Visitor Information Centre, providing accurate and welcoming tourism information and promoting Walgett Shire as a destination of choice. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining up-to-date tourism materials, and supporting the sale and display of local products and promotional content.
The position also assists in maintaining Council’s online presence by updating visitor information on the website and contributing content to Council’s social media platforms in coordination with relevant staff.
About you:
- A genuine interest in customer service and tourism.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on providing excellent service to customers.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and processes accurately.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
