The Administration Officer provides accurate, responsive and professional administrative support across Council as required by operational priorities. The role is a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handles information with confidentiality and discretion, and maintains a consistently high standard of service.
Depending on skills and experience, the Administration Officer may support one Council Directorate or multiple areas and will need to adapt to changing work assignments. If you are a helpful and team focussed person, in this position you will be able to gain valuable experience and find the support area that suits you best.
This is a permanent, fulltime position working 35 hours per week.
About you:
- Ability and skills to provide administrative support across a diverse range of services.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, community members & contractors.
- A customer-focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
- High level of initiative and problem-solving skills to contribute to the smooth operation of Council.
- Able to use the Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent competence in administration, customer service, records management and data entry.
